There were a few times that I cried there were a few times I that I cursed the author for what she did in this book and there were times where I was in a fit of giggles. I saw that one on the BCTV late-late show in !

Although I will finish the series, thus far, I remain as uncaptivated by this story as I did the first time I read it. She took him in, cared for his cuts and bruises as best she could and would have been happy to let him go, until he decided he wanted take more than she was willing to offer. For example they have a shortage for wood even for cooking but they manage to start smithing and a kiln. Yup, it was retold by different characters, whom I found have a really similar tone and typically sounds very much alike.

The idea behind the book had such great promise, but the execution was poor. No characters, no plot, no humor, few thrills, little innovative thought. And this one is a pretty long story so there’s plenty of time to think. I didn’t really expect too much when I picked this book up after hearing some less than encouraging remarks reguarding other works of McCaffreybut I was pleasantly surprised to find that I almost immediately got caught up in this one and ejoyed it the whole way through.

By this point people had started to calm down, though all I could think about at the time was how we turn into a zombies when face with a discount. It did increase my enjoyment of the book. Or it was the super-dogs who have the intelligence enough–on their own mind you–to run to the top of a skyscraper, somehow getting past every door along the way, in order to bark at zombies in another building to get them to “Lemming” off the top.

World War Z definitely falls in the latter category. There was a global zombie infestation. The execution of the interview format didn’t help, what with all the infodumping noa expositions happening in a supposedly oral history.

Dingo The Film did not stay true to the book. The heroine, Kris, behaved badly as a slave, so she was dumped on a supposedly uninhabited planet to help colonize it, with some other rebellious types.

I kind of found myself trying really hard to suspend disbelief at how quickly stuff was reinvented and how they managed to have so many specialists. In a way, it’s a documentary, if you will, and it’s quite unique.

One of the things that I had the hardest time with when reading it was that all of the characters sounded the same in my head.

In the end some got some type of justice while others were broken. Even if there’s this huge outbreak, there’s nothing stupid, shambling corpses can do against modern armies. More than I have ever seen in any other MC book.

But I like Pollyyanna story-telling, and she never hurts my brain. Although my copy has a front-cover blurb by Simon Pegg, it’s his very own great little zom-romcom Sh update It’s a monster book, so I enjoyed that aspect. It’s almost lIke there’s a neon sign hanging over them to identify their role.
